Carolyn Cox for Lacey City Council, Position 7
Thurston Environmental Voters enthusiastically endorses Carolyn Cox as an environmental champion for Lacey City Council.
Professionally, Carolyn has worked to promote clean, safe drinking water. She understands the link between protecting our environmental and creating a healthy community. Her strategy is to relieve the strain on natural resources and to reduce our carbon footprint by promoting improved public transit, sewer to septic conversion, tree preservation and protection of Puget Sound.
Carolyn Cox is extremely well qualified for Lacey City Council with the unique combination of communication experience and extensive public service. Carolyn works as a Public Information Officer for the State Health Department and has also been a reporter for four newspapers and an editor for the Olympian. She understands our community and will be able to keep people informed about important City issues.
In her lead role as Chair of the Lacey Planning Commission, she has demonstrated her leadership and organizational skills. Additionally, she has served on the Thurston County Boundary Review Board, is currently the President of the Rainier Park Owners Association, past Secretary for the Thurston County Democrats and has been a member of the Alumni Board of Directors for Evergreen State College and an officer of the Toastmasters International Club.
